Forecast = Showers

The upcoming forecast shows showers, showers, and more showers! Oh and by the way, it's raining out too! (haha I think I am pretty witty:))

So exciting that there are lots of weddings for my friends in 2011 and 2012 to attend!! What better way to spend a rainy Saturday than to prepare for the first of many bridal showers. Contrary to popular demand, one can not yet walk into Williams-Sonoma and point their registry gun at one of these custom made bad boys:) Maybe someday... For now, these are just an added bonus to friendship- ha!

Actually, to be totally truthful, thanks friends for getting married and providing me with arts and crafts today.

So here it is... The product of a rainy Saturday:

The Jennie Apron

This custom made jem is complete with my favorite colors (Go Bruins), cute buttons, and my attempt at pleats.
That's all...Have a great weekend!

ps don't worry, this won't ruin the surprise for Jennie's bridal shower, cause I am pretty sure she isn't a blog follower yet:) Boy, is she missing out:) j/k

MApron Complete!

Sewing project #1 for 2011 is done... I have officially made my first man apron: MApron

Check it out...

This MApron is special because when I was in Copenhagen I went to the most incredible shop with fabrics and trinkets. I couldn't pass up the patriotic fabric:) It's a reversible apron too! Did I mention it is also special because it was made for someone special? I know, I know, all my crafts are made for special people:)

I'm pretty sure my neighbors were annoyed that I was sewing at 8:30 PM last night, but oh well... IF they are nice, maybe I will make them one too:) they are just jealous...

Next project= Birthday treats!

Have a fabulous day!

Xoxo,

Katie
PS I wish I was as funny as Curious About The Curtises?

Did you know The Little Mermaid can take vacation????

Well folks, it's true! I walked to The Little Mermaid today and she was on vacation, rather on tour, in Shanghai for the World Expo!!!

But don't worry there was a huge flat screen TV where she lives in Copehagen streaming her live feed from the Shanghai Expo:) So, in a way I got to see her here in Copenhagen!!

In other news, today I toured the city of beautiful Copenhagen. Starting with the Royal Library and then Parliment. I took a tour of the underground remains of a castle from the 1400's and made a wish (an american wish--- with a US penny) in a well that still exists to this day:)

Then it was off to the shopping district! And no, I didnt buy one thing! Although, I did fall in love with some pink hydrangeas, but was frightened away with the salesman started speaking Danish to me thinking I knew what he was saying... I tell ya, everyone here could be my family member!! I enjoyed lunch and dinner with my co-worker today.

It was nice to have a break from the event this week! I was in need of some touring! Things I love here so far:

The Canals

Window Shopping

Coffee breaks --- the black coffee here is MUCH better than at home

Metro

Fall colors

Carlsberg Blonde

Tomorrow is the last day here... will update with pics soon!

Have a great weekend!

Travelling to Copenhagen

I can't tell you how easy it was to get to Copenhagen... the stars were aligned for me. (for those of you wondering... no, I wasn't early the whole time:)I am here no delays, got my luggage and my hotel is fantastic! Right in the heart of the shopping district! When I arrived the sky was pink and purple as the sun was setting.

I can't wait to ride a bike/walk through this city and explore. Work?? Who said this trip was for work??? haha! I will have the next few days to dream about what I want to see on my off days.

Tommorrow is event prep day #1. Tying up all loose ends. Somehow I bet I will find a way to make my Copenhagen work day an adventure!

Off to dinner and then sleep ASAP!

XOXO,
Kt

A New Adventure....

Off to the land of The Little Mermaid! (one of my many Disney favs!)
Work will keep me busy, but I think I can definitely make time for some sightseeing. Who knows what this adventure will bring. My hope is to use some of the German I took in hs and college while I am on my layover:)
Stay tuned for my European adventure!
XOXO,
K

October 1:

Can you believe it's October 1st already???? I think it's time for some fall crafts.... I am looking for recommendations for Halloween treats and things.

I feel inspired to be crafty this weekend.... Here are the potential options for what I am going to be up to this weekened:

1. Creating Fall/Halloween treats
2. Painting ... my kitchen walls are empty, I think I need to spruce them up
3. sewing :) maybe another apron or two;)

all of this will be done while watching College football! I have to say, this is my favorite time of year!

Stay tuned for pics from the weekend!

have a great weekend!
